Nearly 1,000 years ago a city along the Mississippi River saw an explosion of earthen engineering the likes of which the world had never seen. Among many smaller mounds, decades of construction created a massive, 100 foot (30 meter) high pyramid.

A monumental construction for a people who sought to control trade across the continent. Goods flowed into and out of the city from as far as what is now Georgia, the Gulf of Mexico, Wyoming, and the copper-bearing hills of Lake Superior.

This is the story of twins who journey a thousand miles to be part of the creation of something larger than anything that came before it. Something larger themselves. Something new.
